Tracklisting for "Rush Soundboard Archives VOL 1-3"

Hi All,

New to the forum and first time posting.

I saw RUSH for the first time the fourth and final night in Los Angeles earlier this month and was just blown away!! I'm now on a hunt for live recordings. I came across this on archive.org:

Among the 28 GB's of music, there is three large FLAC files entitled:

RUSH Soundboard Archives 1974-1979
RUSH Soundboard Archives 1979-1986
RUSH Soundboard Archives 1990-1996

There is no tracklisting provided and being such a newbie identifying the names of tracks is no easy task. Would anyone happen to have the tracklisting for these FLACs they could share?

Also, I'd appreciate if anyone could point me to other "collections" like this? I got so much to learn and listen to from the band it's kind of hard to pick a starting point!!

R50 is probably the most comprehensive current commercial collection. You can find all of the pre-Mercury stuff here in various places. If you want the highest points only: 2112, Moving Pictures, Clockwork Angels; A more comprehensive view on what is good and less good tends to come down to taste and when people started listening.

What are the best commercial live recordings? ATWAS and ESL are generally not considered great (though both sold pretty well), A Show of Hands is a little funky (try GUP Live instead or find the laserdisc/VHS soundtrack which is not the same as the album), Different Stages has a muddy mix. Rush in Rio is a good one (if you want a bluray uprez PM me, the presentation was abysmal but it's a great show), I like Time Machine Live (better than S&A Live and R30 IMHO). Clockwork Angels Live and R40 aren't better (IMHO) than what you will see from the current tour on youtube, except productionwise.

A note I should add in case you're interested later, the tracks used in those compilations are available as full shows on this site.
Another note I want to point out, just from looking at all the files at that link, 1976-10-25 Seattle is just an old mislabeling of 1976-03-26 Seattle.

Additionally, 1978-02-20 London is from an official release on the AFTK 40th boxset, the 1980 compilation sourced from the PeW 40th boxset, 1981-03-25 Toronto is from the MP 40th boxset (although it's really mostly from the 24th), and 1984-09-21 Toronto is from the various GUP Live releases, hence none of these are available for download on this website.

In general I find it personally difficult to give people simple recommendations as a starting point. I'm not a fan of compilations, but if it works for you then by all means. Some years ago I did try working on a "Beginner's Guide" list of full shows people should start off with, but I never spent the time to fully flesh it out... but it should still be very helpful for you for the 70s and 80s.

If you have any other questions about these things, I'd be happy to talk about them.

I did think of one more thing you might have interest in. There is a definitely unauthorized collection on "Anglo Atlantic" called Rush - Rare gems from the Vaults: The Very Best of Rush Broadcasting Live Volumes 1 and 2. The first two discs on volume 1 are the first Cleveland radio and the Electric Lady show from the first US tour. The third disc is 13 February 1980 - Kiel Auditorium. All three of those are available here. The fourth disc is really low quality and should be identifiable, but I don't know which show it comes from. It seems to be on a number of streaming services.
