Something I've Always Wondered About in Hemispheres (The Song)

I admit I never researched the answer to this question because it's really obscure, but maybe someone out there might have read about it at one time or has a guess on this... The part of the song before "I have memory but no awareness..." there's a few seconds of a reprise from Cygnus X-1 played somewhat faintly. Then from 12:36 to 12:40 we hear something that's not a reprise, however it is at the same faint volume as the Cygnus X-1 reprise. I wonder if that section from 12:36 to 12:40 was an outtake from Cygnus X-1 that never made it to the final recording in the studio. Any guesses?

Hmm. I'm not sure exactly what it is but that's not a bad guess as far as I'm concerned. I know a lot about the band but this seems like a fairly obscure thing that could be difficult to research.

Listen to Cygnus X-1 at about 7:57. That's the second faint reprise in Hemispheres, without the guitar.

It's amazing how many times I've listened to Cygnus X-1 and never realized that's where the 2nd reprise came from! Thanks, I knew someone out there had to know!
