• May 2023 Update: Many apoligies for the extended period of inactivity, however many big changes for Rush Archives are now in progress. This should benefit everyone, and propel the site onward in the most realistic way possible. Thank you to those who have been supporting this project, and for being patient with the methods I've so far been operating. Further details will be coming soon.

Geddy's intro to La Villa is Identical to Exit Stage Left. Is this the same version? During the very beginning of the song, alex does a little extended intro which was cut from exit if it was. There's actually proof that it may of been cut, because Alex only does that pattern twice on exit and 3 times on any other bootleg from the tour.

It's possible, I'll definitely look into doing a close comparison over the next few days. I'm not sure how much of the studio editing of the ESL tracks will effect the difficulty of me pinpointing the exact dates, but I'll try. What I've just learned recently is the ESL album is not just comprised of the March 27 Montreal concert (other than Side 2 which I was already aware was from Glasgow 1980), despite all online sources saying Montreal for Side 1, 3, and 4. According to an old interview with Neil himself, apparently Side 1, 3, and 4 of ESL was comprised of recordings from "Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Edmonton". It would be an interesting project to see which tracks match any of these three Toronto shows. Sadly there are no audience recordings of the Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, or Edmonton concerts.

All of the audience recordings of Broon's Bane recorded prior to May 17th that I've been able to analyze include a much shorter version of the song. This includes the Toronto shows. However, Exit...Stage Left includes the much longer version of Broon's Bane that was performed from May 17th onward. This may be evidence that at least Broon's Bane was recorded well after the Toronto shows.
