Notes:

  • This is the fourth of four consecutive nights at the International Amphitheatre in 1981. This audio was recorded by Rick Barnett.
  • Footage of this show also exists in short segments of silent Super 8mm film, shot by Tom Pesch. While a poor copy has circulated online for many years, in late 2025, a new 4K scan of the master reel with an improved audio sync has been released by Classic Rock Media Archive, in collaboration with Rush Archives and Tom Pesch. Song segments captured are noted above. (*)
  • As with any 8mm film, full songs and concerts were not able to be captured due to the short length of each film cartridge (~3.5 minutes). Also, as with most 8mm film from the era, the film stock and camera used could not concurrently record audio.
  • Since we do have an audience audio recording of this date, the audio tape from this very concert was used to sync sound and enliven the precise moments captured on this film.

A marvellous recording. I have always loved the 'last clap' competition between Alex & Neil at the end of 'CTTH'. It always tickles me 😆.

A very nice upgrade of the Super 8 film shot by Tom Pesch was released today. Thanks to Tom for loaning out his original film reel to allow us to give it a well needed improvement!
