Those were radio broadcast versions of the Toronto show with the same missing songs, but some versions included Freewill and Limelight from ESL. There's probably 10 different versions of that broadcast, but I don't put them up here since it's just sourced from official stuff.
Cool to see more photos of these regardless. Looks like yours is essentially the same as my "variant 2" but with the ring from the other set added to it.
There's 100% a surviving treasure trove from 1981-1988 recorded by Jon Erickson, but I'm uncertain if we'll ever hear them.
Where Ian Grandy's master tapes ended up, I don't know. They aren't with Erickson's collection. The band had Grandy's gifted copies, but who knows if they ended up with the...
@rocky chains The story about the London 1979 shows being filmed or videotaped is very obscure. Here's an excerpt from a magazine interview with Alex around January 1980:
It's true you can also see cameras behind Neil's kit, but photos from these have been seen online credited to Fin Costello...
Interesting, it took so long that they aren't even marketing it as "40th Anniversary" anymore, but you can tell the t-shirts were designed 2-3 years ago with the anniversary in mind.
I always assumed a full Toronto audio from one of the two nights was going to be what they'd put out for this...
Some of these videotaped shows I don't have any separate audio sources for, but I do want to eventually provide audio-only rips from the videos. It will just take me a bit of time to get it done, but I plan on doing so...
@john0106 It's basically the clean guitar feed without the distortion, picked up and recorded by a frequency scanner. Geddy and Alex were using wireless transmitters by this time, so someone in the audience with a scanner could lock into the frequency of one of the transmitters and record...
YouTube has become increasingly more and more garbage with its auto flagging system over the years.
Offenbach is blocked completely now due to Bangkok, Xanadu, The Trees, CTTH, and La Villa being flagged as Pinkpop, and 2112 as Tucson.
I'm pretty sure I have all those same sources as well. everything I have is all linked above. I haven't looked into this since around 2021, but I remember comparing them and some were different lengths and noticeably different quality. I remember the cut after Temples of Syrinx. On close audible...
The master tape of this Seattle show was originally transferred and shared by the JEMS group back in 2008, having been recorded by one of their core tapers, Stan.
I've just uploaded a new 2025 transfer of the same master tape done by Rush Archives. Being a transfer of the same tape, with both...
It might be. I've been wanting to take some time to look into this one again...
It's been several years since I've looked into this, but I've been thinking that looking at the audio spectrogram may help determine if it's all the same source or not.
Alright, I've now moved KRW's sources to the page for the 26th, and added the new "TA Vol 97" release as the download on this page for the 24th.
I did also double check and verify myself that The Body Electric on the KRW source did indeed match with the other 26th sources.
These three Cow...
I had grabbed the "TA Master Series Volume 97" off Dimeadozen over the weekend, I will add it here and adjust all dates accordingly, as soon as possible.
A very nice upgrade of the Super 8 film shot by Tom Pesch was released today. Thanks to Tom for loaning out his original film reel to allow us to give it a well needed improvement!
I appreciate the complement! I try to keep things constructive and open minded here, especially when it comes to historical research. Lots places sadly just like to immediately disregard and ignore what doesn't suit their current beliefs.
I've been seeing a lot of differing opinions on this new tour, some that are at one extreme or the other extreme, and some simply just feeling conflicted. I feel like expressing my thoughts on it all, in full detail.
I have no desire to convince anyone or expect anyone to feel a certain way, my...
